Can someone explain to me why we are fighting and having our soldiers killed in a country where only 40% could be bothered to vote and the leadership is seen to be corrupt with warlords and drug barons?

Our troops would be better utilised fighting the war on drug imports in to this country.

We have a resposibility to help a country which used to be part of the British Empire.

To suggest we should bomb them is to be as ill-informed as the builder of an umiak.

That's the trouble we live in the past, the Russians invaded Afghanistan.

We have no responsibility to allow our soldiers to die to prop up a corrupt government and where the majority don't vote.

Would you die for them or allow your children too? I know my answer! NO!

My first instincts on Afhganistan is, get our lads out of that hell hole.

As for making our borders safer, how? This country is a push over, too much softly softly.

Correct me if I am wrong but no country gained "democracy" through an invading contry(ies) imposing it!

It's all PR, if the troops were just pulled out when the missions in Iraq and Afganistan were completed the countries would collapse overnight!
