I'm very excited to have the opportunity to travel to Kenya at Easter 2015! I will be volunteering for 2 weeks with the charity Mission Direct. While in Kenya the team and I will be partnering with the Maasai Evangelistic Association and working to build a new Massai Rescue Centre. The centre will offer refuge, education and empowerment for young women who have fled their families, refusing forced marriage. I will also work with a number of other social projects during the trip; assisting at a school and applying fluoride varnish to the children's teeth. I will be selling cakes, children's books and other Christmas gifts and holding a raffle at Silsden Christmas market this Sunday.Also I will be holding a coffee morning with raffle and stalls at st james hall sometime in January. |
