MARCHUP RETAINING WALLS RECONSTRUCTION - THE GREAT WALL OF CRINGLES PHASE II The work will be undertaken by J & N Feather Ltd starting on 16lh Jul 2018 or thereabouts and lasting for approximately 20 weeks. The works will involve taking down existing walls and building new mass concrete retaining walls. The new walls will be masonry faced with a 1200mm high 450mm thick masonry parapet. Temporary traffic lights will be used and the road reduced to one lane during construction. The work will be executed on walls between Lippersley Lane and Marchup Cottage. If you have any queries or complaints about the work, please contact Naveed Anwar. It is important that problems are reported as they arise, so that they can be dealt with quickly. Why are we Council Tax payers paying for farmers boundary walls to be rebuilt? |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) when they took the land years ago to make the road they will have made an agreement to build and look after the roadside walls,which makes sense as farmers would never repair them they would put a gate across the gap or fence it off.ps i dont think the walls would be getting repaired by bfd met if they did belong to the farmers. |

Seen plenty of farmers repairing their walls Have you been spying on me? Only about 9m (27’ to you imperial lot) I wouldn’t want to do the full lot...especially in this heat |

We occasionally get grants for hedgerow reinstating and native tree planting but it’s dwindling now and, as most grants actually funded by EU, the future doesn’t look promising |

Gazzer if the wall foundations are below road level they are the responsability of the council thus government money for very expensive repairs. |
