Keep hearing on your topics about using the local shops, use em or lose em.I have tried this with our local pet shop for bird food once a week, what a waste of time I can count 3 times over several months when there as been no stock which means going into town and buying seed which is hardly as good. They do not seem worried that they are out of stock, perhaps if they spent all day there instead of half a day they could spend more time keeping stock up to date.Competion would be good, except for the shop that runs out of stock

Why don't you think ahead a bit, try getting two bags then when you have only one left you can pop into the shop and get another one, if they are out of stock you can use the second bag until they get some in?

LOL, so it's the customer's fault that the shop can't manage their stock better.

Bobber,

No mess bird food is where the husks have been removed from the sunflower seeds etc.

It saves on the sweeping up.

As the owner of the pet shop I can honestly say I am bothered that we don't have what you want. We have a large selection of bird seed esspecially the no mess as it is one of the most popular. I imagine you mean the larger bags which we generally order in as it is not as popular as the 1.25kg.
I am very upset about the comment 'half day opening' as I am here 7 days, mon-fri 10am-6pm sat 9.30am-3pm and sun 11am-2pm. I only shut early on weekends as the town is very quiet and is my only time off!

I'll stand up for you Emma, I may be wrong but I think Dogsbody has the longest opening hours of any of the shops in Silsden perhaps only the Newsagents getting anywhere near close. Stick at it, you can't please everyone.

I'm with Emma on this one. Open when I need it and has ordered in anything she don't normaly stock. I don't expect any shop to hold a stock of one off's or bits and pieces in the amount I order, but like I say it is no problem getting it in for me. Thanks for the Good friendly sevice.

I'm also on Emmas' side, a lovely cheerful girl and her hubby. Don't knock these young ones for trying to keep a business going in this economic climate, they are lovely people.
This is a small business, they can't afford to keep everything in stock that might be a one off sale. But as herself says', "they will get anything you request for you". That can't be bad.!!!!!!

Another one for Emma. We buy pet food she doesn't usual stock - I just make sure I order it from her a week or so before I need it. Some times she'll order in double the quantity so that I can get it straight away the next time. Don't just moan about your local shops - use them!!!

I thought that birds eat worms? Iv'e been chasing them around the back yard all day trying to shuv seeds into thier beaks, i think one bag of seeds should last me about 10 years!
