This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

does anyone know if either the green on bradley road or the dog walking field at the top of airville mount are officially registered as village greens?

legislation allows anyone to register a green space that has been used by local people for legal recreation for 20 years, to be registered & become exempt from development. see these links for more info

ok i've been looking into this & have contacted bradford council. the process is fairly straightfoward but what is needed is evidence of the areas being used for recreation over the years. if anyone has any photos of either area being used for any recreation purposes or can provide any other evidence such as flyers or advettisements please contact me through this site.

there may be other areas in silsden that can be protected. if so, get involved & help preserve our green spaces

I'm a relatively new offcumden (of only 10 years) but won't there be people who live adjacent to the green who could perhaps make a statement to the effect that it's been used for xyz for nn years. Wouldn't that do for registering it?
