Topic : Door to door sales by young offenders |

Hi all. Has anyone else had a call from young offenders selling cleaning products door to door through the probation service? Had one yesterday evening. Seemed a nice enough lad but said that he had 2 weeks left doing this to prove that he could hold down a job so that he would only get tagged rather than sent back to an institute when he went before the courts. Said that they were at a place in Didsbury, Manchester and got dropped off at various places by a supervisor to do their rounds. Said he was from Teeside on his ID. |

yes last night quite rude when irefused to buy anything .people who live in nice houses never buy anything for an example. |

called at mine last night stated same as above he seemed alright but I do think this is a scam I do not think ex cons would be sent to peoples houses at nightime sealing plastic rubbish  what if a 90 year old lady open the door and let him in they could case the joint or what if no one was in again they could case the joint the local police should be able to confirm if these prople are allowed to do this. |

It would concern me slightly if they were. Most leave streight away though when I say "not interested thank you" (the dog barking and glaring out the window may help a bit). |
