At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. The Government has a duty of care to all British citizens - let that care be shown to the UK hauliers who ask no more than to be able to perform their job of moving the UK economy safely and securely. The UK and French governments must acknowledge their responsibilities to all Port of Calais users, move in and act. If this means deployment of the armed forces then so be it. |

So, the big idea is to invade France!!! If boots are going on the ground then they need to be in Syria, Iraq a and Eritrea sorting out the causes, not the collateral problems. At the moment French customs and immigration are at the UK end of the tunnel. UK customs and immigration are in France. Do as many in France want, go back to the old system and then the problem is transferred to the UK. Any how the immigrants are obviously all Torys. The have demonstrated a desire to improve their lot, used their initiative and contrary to what our stupid press says, want to work and make their fortunes. Until we have real leadership at the top this situation will prevail. Vote for Corbyn - unless you can spot a better choice amongst the current grey rabble at Westminster. |

The Bradford, Keighley and Silsden councils have a duty of care to all Silsden citizens - let that care be shown to the UK road users who ask no more than to be able to perform their right of moving the UK economy safely and securely. The three councils must acknowledge their responsibilities to all Silsden road users, move in and act. If this means deployment of the armed forces then so be it. Well, there is a saying ‘context is everything’. |

We need to process the immigrants in France, let the genuine ones in, and send the rest back. In Australia they process them on the navy boats when they approach land, vet them and send the wronguns back where they came from. This sends a message to others that they will not get in easily, and is also putting off traffickers. They also send some to Papua, and pay them to look after them. So the army could support immigration officials in France to do the job. We don't need to invade France to sort it, and clearly France don't care, they just want rid of the immigrants. |

Old Minor if that Marxist conman wins the Labour leadership election then I with a lot of other life long supporters and fully paid up members of the Labour party will stop supporting them. Would he let all who want to come hear, he is unelectable. |

Should not the french have stopped them entering their country in the first place? I thought refugees had to register at their entry point within Europe. |

Problem is that if we upset the French they will give them French passports, and we will end up getting them all legally, under EU rules. Can't win on this one.. get ready for the first influx into Silsden... I'm not kidding...! They are in Preston already... |

Wake up old miner... you must be a closet Tory to want that to happen..! Corbyn's support is not based on politics but rather the blandness of all other contenders. It really is a kick up the proverbial for politicians of all persuasions. Blair, who gets a lot of stick had the right direction. Unfortunately once in power he blew it by adopting some strange policies along with the the good ones. Just look at how many Blair policy the Torys kept. Immigration is a side issue that politicians love as it means they do not have to deal with the real problems, yet. |
