IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. ![]() THE PLANNING APPLICATION AND DOCUMENTS: Re 17/05793/REG | A fit for purpose 3.FE primary school and nursery, which includes a future-proofed design to enable a 4.FE school provision. External works to include utility connections/diversions, landscaping, car parking, highways, external play and sports provision. | Land At Hawber Lane Silsden West Yorkshire To see the plans and other documents use this link planning.bradford.gov.uk/online-applications/ and on the page search for planning application number 17/05793/REG _____________________________________________________ For a guide to the essential documents you can use this link: news.silsden.net/facilities/silsden-school-planning-app-1705793reg This planning application will affect everyone in Silsden, whether you have primary age school children or not. The position of the proposed new school is such it will generate a lot of extra traffic and has the potential of making Silsden impossible to get through at peak periods of the day. Note: THERE IS STILL NO HIGHWAYS REPORT AVAILABLE - how the extra traffic will negotiate Bolton Rd / Dale View, and Howden Road / Kirkgate junctions is all a mystery at the moment. You didn't want to go anywhere did you? Your views are VERY important. To get the best of a bad location you must make your views know on the Bradford Planning site. planning.bradford.gov.uk/online-applications/ and search for the plans using 17/05793/REG |

I have just been on the website and registered my objections, it was very easy and straightforward to do. Unfortunately I suspect people just can't be bothered to do this, thinking it is up to somebody else to deal with it. Take note:- Once the school is built and we are all gridlocked, there will then be a 100 pages of those people moaning about it on the forum and wondering why nothing was done. |

quoteI haven't seen the highways report yet. Will that be added before the closing date? My money is on it being published at 5pm on the 7th December. ie when it's too late to get many objections on the proposed access problems to the site. |

quoteLooking forward to the relocation of the school At least us on the west side of the main road will get rid of the yummy mummy`s droping their little darlings off and getting rid of the traffic congestion and appalling parking You have been warned around the new school area Unfortunately you are ill informed!! The congestion, or appalling parking are unlikely to magically disappear elsewhere ! The existing school sites will be turned into so called ‘affordable homes’ and like most families these days..that will be two cars per household...adding to the congestion you speak about. That is why everyone reading this should think greatly about the access/egress roads and routes to the proposed school. When they have done that, they..like many others have realised, that the new school proposal will affect not just those who utilise the school, but has wide ranging environmental consequences to the rest of the population of silsden and beyond. |
