This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

If it's private land then it's your problem, like you say.

You need to speak to a solicitor for advice.

You are allowed to remove an obstruction from your land so long as you do not damage it.

So long as is just on the hand brake which will be on the rear wheels only, then jack it up and tow it onto a highway.

Then complain about the vehicle obstructing the highway. It will then be dealt with.

Do not damage it by letting the tyres down or anything like that.

I think you could clamp it and leave a note with a demand for rent for you parking place.

If I move it onto the Highway have I not caused the obstruction, and therefore dumped the car.

I was lead to believe that if a vehicle is not currently taxed or is subject to a current SORN declaration, irrespective of whether it is on public or private property, then the men from the ministry can pursue the owner. They can surely be tipped off to pursue if they haven't done so voluntarily. Perhaps worth a phone call?

Apologies:

Previous message should have said "and NOT subject to a current SORN declaration"

Why don't you trace the owner via DVLA and then park your car on their land?

Dont realy want to start a WAR just get the car removed,I had a car KEYED some years ago and you can never prove who did it. I think DVLA is the best idea THANKS FOR ALL THE SUGESTIONS.

Two wrongs do not make a right, however much we somethimes wish they did.
SORN is a good approach if it is not taxed.
Another option would be to clamp it, place a note with the cost of removal and see what happens. Cowboy clampers seem to get away with it.
It really depends how long you can go without your alloted space.
