The darker nights can lead to an increase in crime and after looking at previous topics I'm aware that some of you have unfortunately been victims. In November there were 4 reported thefts from vehicles in Silsden - unfortunately for 2 of them the thieves had an easy job as the vehicles had been left unlocked. We need the help of residents to try and identify the thieves by reporting any suspicious vehicles or people they see in the area using the 101 number. Similarly - please protect your own property by making sure that your vehicles, garages, sheds etc are locked and that you don't leave items on show. Crime in Silsden is generally very low and with your help we can keep it that way! |

It happened to me (Kent Avenue) a few months ago, i had left my car unlocked (busy mum not thinking) and in the morning i noticed my glove box was down and several doors including the boot were ajar ... someone had had a good rummage but as my car is a mobile filth tip they probably got disgusted by the state of it and ran off....joking aside, it made me realise that whilst we are sleeping others are thieving. |
