Silsden Gala will be on Sunday 31st July. The procession will be leaving Howden Road/Clogg Bridge at 1pm and make its way up Kirkgate turning left up Briaggate than right to Bell Square and then left up Bolton road to Dale View and onto the park. It takes around 45 minutes to an hour to reach its destination. The roads will all be closed from 1pm to around 2pm. we hope you will all come along,pay you £1 on the gate and have a grand day out in Silsden. |

Hi, thanks for the info. Could you please tell me what happens on the field beside the prize handling of the gala please? I hear there is a fair. Do they have much to tiny toddlers and if so any idea of costs please. Are dogs allowed, is there a fun dog show or anything like that or do these need pre-entry? Regards 😀 |

Yep,fun dog show,some Disney charcters(Frozen I think and Paw Patrol)small children rides. Owls to look at,childrens races,hook a duck,ducking stool. Hope you come along and enjoy.Also can enter child in fancy dress in the procession and hope to win a prize?? |

Sorry forgot to say,no pre enter for dog show,all for fun,only cost involved is £1 onto field and the fair rides. |

Our local Community First Responders will be in the procession, and also on the field; to give advice on how to react if you are fortunate to be on the scene of somebody who is suffering a cardiac arrest. |

What A Grand Day!!!! The gala seems to have been a huge success,a lovely day for Silsden. Thank you to all who came and paid their £1 and supported this event. All the money collected on the gate and in the procession goes towards putting on next years Gala,it cannot happen again without your support so again THANK YOU!!!! |

From the Keighley News The entire community of Silsden came together for the town’s annual gala this afternoon, bringing the streets to life with song and dance. During the afternoon there was a collection of floats, marching bands and groups like scouts, local sports teams, majorettes and other groups that make up the community entertaining the crowds of hundreds of spectators as they passed through the town centre from Howden Road towards Silsden Park. This year the role of Gala King fell to Adam Smith and Gala Queen to Megan Reece. Aliyah Smith was their attendant.
