This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

National charity CSV have been given funding to renovate this piece of land. It's been disused for some time now, and garages have recently been removed from there.

We're holding a community day at Gloucester Avenue Community Centre on Friday 7th December from 3-7pm. It'd be great if people could come along and let us know what you think needs changing in the area.

Artwork by Hothfield pupils will be displayed at the event, there will be a raffle and other competitions, and free coffee, tea and cakes!

If you can't make it, email your ideas/comments to LAllen@csv.org.uk

Thanks!

this land used to have hen pens on it. In the early 1950s and the people who had the pens were given notice to quit by the silsden councel so houses could be built. Only two houses were ever built and two rows of garages were built in the 1960s.

The land is nearer the Skipton Road end of Dradishaw - across the road from the public footpath... If that helps...

The garages have recently been removed so the area looks much bigger and there should be much more scope for ideas now happy :)

And, just a note, the community service part of our organisation name does not have anything to do with naughty people, as many people assume!
