IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Can I say that it would be a good idea if someone sat in the Town Hall on a Saturday and administered free spelling lessons to the youth of Silsden. Most of their spelling on this forum is frightfully appalling!

Blobby you might need word to spell check your posts.
But that doesn't mean the school system doesn't work, so when you reach year 7 then maybe you can make comments like that.
( I assume you’re a child since if you aren’t then your just stupid)

It is actually called text writing but I never use it on forums because I go on this one where you're not allowed to write in text speak because people from around the world go on it but I still do often use text message speak

young persons will move away from the previous generation in many ways, one of the age old methods is the use of slang language, i it did when i was a lad and working as a youth worker in the city of leeds i hear slang every day so it's cushdie charver, expect it and embrace it. it's normal for our kids to react against us old farts, what might help this GENERATION GAP issue is if we show them a well balanced and mature, proactive way of coping with it rather than childish and reactionary way....they learn from example
