So this afternoon I go to the king for a couple of Drinks to get me out of the house. 2 hours later I think better of walking home with my broken arm so I order a taxi. However after getting in the taxi and him taking me 1/2 way home he announces that he can't go on the side streets but only main roads! Even though I've informed him that the side street is gritted as the neighbours have done it this afternoon. When I say I ordered he taxi go take me home he states that they won't allow me to book a taxi again - to which I reply why on earth did the dispatcher take the fare in the first place!!! At no time did I raise my voice or swear - just pointed out that they were not keeping up with what they were contracted to do.

I can see that you wrote that post with your non-spelling left hand because your good spelling right hand is broken

I was actually using my left hand which was also broken and I haven't got full use of it - thanks for being understanding and not condescending at all!!!

If you have a problem with a driver get their taxi number and report them to where they are registered as well as the taxi company they work for.

I can see why he wanted to stick to main roads but the dispatcher should have made you aware of this, especially as you had paid up front!

It's looks like we're getting some snow tonight. I don't think the gritters have been out at all today!

Hi Dodzy

I'm sorry to hear you were put in a position where you were not able to be transported the full distance of you journey during the recent bad weather.

During this disruption we have been operating a Limited and Local main road service, in order to continue transporting anyone who is stuck out in the snow. Unfortunately however the only way we are able to do this is by not travelling on side streets and operating solely within the Silsden & Steeton boundaries.

The reason we are so keen to enforce this is because even if only one car gets stuck on a side street, it means many other passengers are then stranded as we simply don't have a car to transport them.

We have been playing a recorded announcement to all callers as the weather deteriorates advising of the situation however it's possible that you called before this became active & of course you should have been advised.

Furthermore I appreciate that your broken hand would clearly have made the situation worse and I would be happy to discuss this further and certainly offer a refund in this instance.
