This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I've got a question, but nobody will reply to.

MIDDLEWAY

I do have concerns regarding planning application  17/05793/SUB01 Pre-commencement, with heavy plant and machinery followed by an endless stream of earth movers then construction traffic on a road that was never constructed to carry  such heavy  traffic an obvious deterioration of the road will be a consequence .It is my understanding as a  Local Housing  Distributor Road it should have a minimum width of 6.3m and footpath  at   least   3.0m   wide  when   outside   the entrance/frontage to schools
Middleway  is 4.9m wide with foot paths 1.9m so does not meet minimum requirements.  Could be planning will consider this road when made one way will be adequate when minimum road with of 3.3m  in my opinion we need an independent enquiry as to the legitimacy of this part of the planning.

I went to the event last night, and it was very interesting to see the parking restrictions especially on Banklands lane. I overheard a man from Steeton asking if the hopper bus could pick up his children from Steeton and take them to the school for free. This school should be for Silsden children first and if you want your children to go to it then you should provide your own transport.

I couldn't go...could anyone explain what are to be the restrictions on Banklands Lane, and how they will affect potential park users, given that this is the only stretch of road in which park users can utilise?
Thanks

Corky the proposal is to be no waiting on the north side of Banklands lane fron Banklands ave to Hawber cote lane Mon To Fri from 8 AM to 9 AM and 3PM TO 4PM. I think this will change to the South side of Banklands lane because the drives are so steep on Banklands lane. Peter is going to put pictures of the plans on the site soon.

Thanks Victor.
Look forward to seeing the plans posted.

It's a dire shame that proposals for a school has such far reaching effects. It is having more effects than the current school has on the Town.

What do you mean.."people up there"? All people are Silsdeners, as they form part of the community.
You may as well say that because its being built up there, Silsden born and bred folk can't use it then??

Differentiation is a form of discrimination and this should NOT be allowed on this website, in this County or indeed in this Country.

I'm in two minds about making public the pictures I took last night for the proposed parking restrictions relating to the new school. The traffic plans were provisional and subject to change. Following the meeting last night it was obvious they needed to be changed - there were quite a few unhappy people.

Because of meeting and the problems with the traffic plans proposed there should be a survey and public meeting to discuss the proposals to take our views into account, before the parking restrictions and speed calming measures are finalised.

One plan was changes to parking on Kirkgate. I did note was the proposal to remove about 2 parking end places from the street parking in Kirkgate (opposite Dogsbody). How long have we been asking for this to be done?

Yes..Peter..but as you know Bradford won't change anything we ask..they only seem to do things to suit there own purpose!

Regarding moving the parking to the south side of Dale View, won't folk be stepping out onto muddy grass! What about installing a new pavement along the edge of the park?

As I said I think the restricted parking will be moved to the park side of the road. Not only for the benefit of the residents but the children on the footpath will not be as close to moving traffic.
