POSTED ON BEHALF OF TIM CLARK Looking for some help please re the Clark family of Silsden My family come from the Silsden & Steeton area (or as my father always affectionately referred to it, Cobbydale). My father, Colin Clark, was born in Steeton in 1914; my grandfather, Willie Clark, was born in Silsden in 1883; my great grandfather, Thomas Clark was born in Silsden in 1861; as were several earlier generations of the family. My wife and I have, for some time now, been tracing the family history (currently back as far as the 1600’s), and are wondering if there are any other members of the Clark family still living in the area who may share the same interest, particularly in these challenging days when many of us need a new interest to keep us occupied. We had planned to drive over to the area (we now live in North Yorkshire, just outside Middlesbrough), and ask around in the villages at the Post Office, village pubs etc etc, but obviously in the current climate that is out of the question. So we would be very grateful if you have any ideas regarding possible ways to contact members of the Clark family who may be interested, without us resorting to being somewhat intrusive by just ringing everybody in the area named Clark in the telephone Directory.
