Traffic never 'flows' on Skipton Road during peak times.

it is another example of cash for planning permissions, without thought for the consequence.

A quote from Mr Mallinson in the Keighley News;

"Steeton is a commuter centre, Addingham is rural and Silsden is a major town with the biggest housing growth"
Page 24

Silsden is a major village/small town which will have problamatic housing growth whilst people like Mr Mallinson are enthusiastic about building.
Its almost like he will benefit from Silsden housebuilding.

Just spotted this in the Raving Herald!

m.cravenherald.co.uk/news/10183986.Meetings_bring_councillors_together_to_explore_issues/

Andrew Mallinson exploring issues with BMDC. Question is, does he know what the issues are??? Does he know what Silsden wants or needs?

District councillor Andrew Mallinson said there was also an opportunity for joint projects and that Bradford councillors learned about issues that might not have filtered up from parish level.
Part of the piece in the paper, if he bother to attend local level meetings (Which he is well paid to do) he would already know!

Turns out we dont need plans for new houses until those with planning passed have not been built.

Affordable housing. Alright if we need affordable housing in Bradford, look at the number of derelict and empty factory units. Convert them into housing in a fraction of the time. Sorted!"!!!

Mr Mallinson, on the face of it, would rather we overdevelop areas outsidfe of Bradford. NIUMBY - Not In My Back Yard!

I hope he is not getting an allowance for his work for Keighley Town Centre Partnership because he is a Craven representative. He should not be doing anything to encourage people to shop in Keighley and not Silsden.

This is all about positioning himself for the election coming up next year, and he is getting lots of free publicity. Next year he will be able to say "look at all the wonderful things I have done for you", but Silsdeners have long memories.

I can think of half a dozen environmental projects in Silsden we could spend £10,000 on now.

He is avoiding our Town council and quitting other stuff to save embarrasment of quitting when he loses the next election. Given the Tories report into Coun Naylor I wouldnt be surprised if he is not selected next time or even chooses to stand down

I see Mr Mallinson is at the forefront of a bid for £30,000 funding to revitalise the towns sports pitch.
"This funding from Sport England is part of the Olympic legacy.Organisations will be making applicationsfo £10,000 to £50,000 to create a new pitch or revitalise what they have got", he told the The Keighley News.

Its not Silsden though, its Cowling where he is Town Clerk. Rumours that if the bid fails he will propose selling Cowling Village Hall to pay for the work are unproven!!

I saw that article too.

The interesting bit for me was that he was setting up a consultation with residents when can Silsden expect a consultation about the Town Hall?

Someone who is fighting against council corruption and wants to expose the irregularities said,

A national newspaper contacted me regarding the Hellifield Flashes. One of the areas they picked up on was the use of agricultural conditions to apply for planning and then have removed or 'ignored'. We have provided them with the marvellous example of the House with five bedrooms and three car garage on the road to Nowhere (funded with 250k of european subsidy and now in the ownership of the landowner!) However, to give their story weight they need further examples and have asked me to contact you all to ask for anything you might have.

Could you let me know as soon as possible as this story could be the start of the exposure of all the strange goings on in our area which would then help to highlight the national problem.

Our example is a massive house for an agriculture or forestry worker with stables on a funded road, in a conservation area, a site recommended as a SINC, home to the Great Crested Newt, in a watercourse free of American Signal Cray Fish. A site where the application to create this so called environment centre was made by a non existent entity, has been the site of unauthorised water course diversion, is presently in breach of planning, sits next to a national park, is in full view of national trails. It is a site without the benefit of an Environmental Impact Assessment (potentially being around 234-290 acres). A site where the original developer was a planning consultant and estate agent and the new developer has a 'history' and is inexticably linked with the previous developer. The house is now OUTSIDE THE SCHEME for the Environment Centre and has become a valuable private home. When Shaun Spiers our CEO recently described as one of the top 100 influential people in planning, visited the site, he described it as being 'like the wild west', when presented with the details!

The Telegraph are doing a sterling job exposing some of the planning things that drive us all to distraction and we must feed them quantitative and qualitative information.

Please, if you have any examples, let me know as a matter of extreme urgency to keep this story alive
See tiny images below foreground and house sit within the Long Preston Conservation Area and the background is the Yorkshire Dales National Park! The 'lake' should be a flash pond but the beck that feeds into a SSSi was diverted without authorisation!! Can you beat this one?END QUOTE

Any information should not be sent via this forum but perhaps Peter could receive them and forward them on to me. I quite understand if he refuses to do this.Another way to do this is, if you have information you could ask Peter to send your e-mail address to me, and I will forward the information.
Again, Peter is fully in his rights to refuse.

I cannot reveal who wrote the above quote because they said in an email, "could I ask that you keep this information just within our group - inevitably it is a little sensitive and could cause some issues."

I read a similar article in the Raving Herald earlier today. Why does he think that Redrow should stick to the original figure? "Because the developers would have to pay more for amenities". I think it is more a case of he will get more money in back handers!!!

I have said it before essentially developers pay a fee, dressed up as for amienties/schools, and get planning permission. The money for schools will be gone after the first year its paid.
