I need the advice of you good people again. I have just bought a sofa, being delivered on Thursday. I didnt think about whether it would fit through doors etc and now I think it may not so need a contigency plan in case. I believe it is relatively easy to pop a double glazed unit out to get sofa in and replace it. Is there anyone out there that would be able to help with this if needed or could someone point me in the direction of someone who could help?

yes it can be done, we had to do exactly the same when we moved. you need a double glazing firm ideally, its a case of ringing round to find one that will be prepared to do it. i wouldnt try it yourself as they're very heavy & will have spacers inside to get it level. i cant remember who we used now but it was a silsden firm

You might be surprised just how experienced sofa delivery guys can get an enormous sofa through a tiny opening.

We struggled with ours . . . and then found out the back came off when it fell off - which reminded me that was how we got it in a few years before.

Might be easier to simply take the front door off -the extra room and no handle to snag on makes a massive difference - the hinge pins on a UPVC door normally just knock up and out.

Same for an internal doors - unscrew the hinges to get more room and freedom to swing the L-shape of a settee up on end around.

Thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately it wouldn't even fit through the front door to store in the hall and I have no garage so had to send it back and will lose 20% of the cost.. an expensive lesson learnt...
