IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. hi, I wonder if anybody could tell me whether or not there is a public footpath through the cattle grid and along the path at Moorgate at the end of Kiln Hill Lane? thanks.. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) according to the ordnance map i have there is it goes to moorgate and then branches off left to low high bradley,(splits again)and right to crowtrees and low edge farm again it splits a bit further on,but it looks like the path branches off the track to moorgate a field before the end of the track, you would probably be better getting a map, they have a copy at library and you can photostat the silsden bit. |

Good luck on that one! The Bradford Met maps are totally useless! They have the keys laid out as per any map, but the keys that are relevant to footpaths do not coincide with the map????? You would do as well speaking to one of the muppets at City Hall. |

Thanks for reply, I wasn't sure whether I was ok to cross the cattle grid as although there is an arrow sign there, there is also a sign saying private... |

The links below are of the definitive map of footpaths for the Silsden area. The map used to hang in the Council Chambers in the Town Hall before the refurbishment but before the map was removed I took some pictures. The quality is not the best because the map was behind glass and the room was very badly lit. I have made copies of the map for you to download. ALL the links below are of the same map but saved at different sizes ie A3, A2 and A1 A3 (531Kb) news.silsden.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/silsden_footpaths.jpg A2 (992Kb) news.silsden.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/silsden_footpaths_2.jpg A1 (2.02Mb) news.silsden.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/silsden_footpaths_3.jpg |

Those definitive maps wil be out of date now, there is only one copy of rthe definitive map and that is held and maintained by Bradford. Just to be pedantic, Peter! |
