I see the tardis-like shop on Howden Rd is selling tickets for this new lottery for those of us who are not quite sure the other lottery always gives money to "good" causes. |

Yes the main one does! But only after it has taken a whacking big cut for its shareholders, this new one is even worse, if you want to do a lottery and see all of your money go to a good cause, less a small amount for expenses, then why don’t you take a look at the one run by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance? |

Thanks grandad for reminding everyone about the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Lottery. I, like many people, have know about this lottery in the past but with the two National Lotteries getting promoted on television and in the papers we tend to neglect our own local charities. For those of us who are able to watch Helicopter Heroes on BBC1 every morning will see how those who seek the help of the air ambulance are forever grateful and what a good job they do. I believe it costs £8000 per day to keep the air ambulance in operation so I will do my little bit by contributing to their lottery every week and hope everyone who reads this will also 'Do Their Bit'. Thanks for telling us about the air ambulance one. I watch this every morning and am amazed at some of the conditions they have to cope with. |
