This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Did you know that between May and July 2013 97 crimes were reported in Silsden.
4 offenders were given a caution and 3 charged.10 crimes are under investigation. The rest are logged as no further investigation at this time(nearly 60%)

I know from personal experiance and other stories from reliable sources that if possible the police try to discourage crime reports in this area as its classed as a low crime area and they dont want the figures to rise

Have you ever heard the phrase "lies, dammed lies, and statistics,) don't take these figures on their face values, there are a lot of things that happen behind them which will help to explain why they appear has they do.
We do live in a low crime area, and the best way to keep it this way is to be vigilant, secure everything and report all suspicious events, every little piece in the jigsaw provides a better picture of the whole.

I hear thieves are returning over and over again to houses on Bradley Road stealing garden wall top stones. They must turn up in a wagon every few nights and there seems no deterrent. When recurring crimes are committed are we not entitled to see someone reprimanded?
