This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Have a look at a new pictorial web-site of Silsden life, now attracting hits from around the world including many ex-Cobbydalers!

Its called SILSDEN - A LIVING HISTORY, a blog by local journalist John Liddle, who's also planning a book to link in with it.

Recent postings of our town past and present include shops and shop-keepers ( including a hundred years of what is now Dogsbody and Friends, and the Bradley Road shops!); street scenes, window cleaners, allotment gardeners (including Bob T!); church folk from 2012 and 1912...there's loads. Who do you recognise and what will you remember?
Just type into your browser address bar: johngliddle.blogspot.co.uk/ There's plenty of good stuff on "old posts" as well as the current page.

I've just had a look through the photographs on the site, I hadn't seen many of them before. It is VERY informative and I will keep coming back to it.

Well done and thank you John.
