Does Arthur Lampkin the motor bike scrambler
from the 60s and 70s still live in silsden?
He attended Silsden Secondary modern School
the same time as my self although he was a
few years older'

arthur still lives in brunthwaitehappy :) i dont think he plays on here though.his lads still run the engineers workshop up greengateshappy :)

My Dad use to take me to watch Arthur Lampkin, some of his races were on TV. A Silsden legend.

My whole childhood was spent close to the Lampkin family! We all had some great times picnicking and following Arthur's famous trials/scrambling adventures _even before BSA works support. Alan was my good friend and we dammed up a good number of streams etc in our youth. Arthur used to braze long shanks on small front cogs for our bikes so that they became ultra low geared! I can remember cycling up to BUckden / Kettlewell from silsden with a rucksack /tent on our backs. Our legs must have been fit with feet going round in a blurr whilst getting nowhere.
My father _Don was a great artist and photographer. I remember him taking portraits of half of SILSDEN in the 1950s. I have a lot of old Silsden photos taken from the church steeple! I left Highfield street school in about1955 and have lots of old memories Shirl...

I've shown Aurther Lampkin messages if you like a catch up with him you find him in the Robin hood Silsden sat,sun and Mondays around 11:30am till 12:45 normally calls to sample a beer game Dom's.🍺🍺🍻
