The partner of a man in my office has it, confirmed, he got sent home from work as a precaution and now he also has it, again confirmed. I don't work near him but it is a bit worrying. |

Best advice follow the NHS guidance on www.nhs.uk or www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk. And if you beleive you have the symptoms do not go to GP, ring them or call NHS direct for advice. The evidence suggests that this flu is going to be no more harmful than other flu variations. |

loadsa people die every year from common flu its just the latest thing for the media to use to say get in your nuclear bunker or YOU WILL DIE!!! how many have died so far is it 10 in this country out of about 60 million not exactly earth shattering really |

I have heard one rather silly woman walking her dog on the park telling people she has swine flu,but then again like I say she is silly! I am working with a girl whos brother has it but I,m not worried,it is flu,thats all.It can be bad but its around every year. |

Think the point is that if you have it, keep away from other people. The vast majority will be ok who catch it, but those with medical issues may not. So, don't be a bloody hero and spread it by mixing with others because it's not affecting you too much! |

Seems that the masks are a waste of time. Evidently washing hands regularly does more than a mask. Also keep hard surfaces clean and trap your germs in a handkerchief, preferably a tissue which you then trhow away. (one assumes the bugs cannot climb out litter bins!) As for the press. This is the silly season so no doubt it will be the 'end of the world' 'we are all doomed' etc. in the papers. Of course it can be carried over the internet  ); |

I am unwell and have spoke to a doctor over the phone,I was offered tamiflu but dont feel ill enough to take it.I havnt gone to work and am steying indoors.If I feel anyworse on the next 24hours I can ring docs up and get tamiflu. |

the local tamiflu centre is up and running in Keighley, used it today, lots of security about! The way the whole system works is a bureaucratic nightmare, must have been thought up by politicians trying to make us all think they have things under control........I feel sorry for the medical people trying to implement it. Maybe it will get better as time goes on, but there will be a book written about this in due course, and it will not make good reading. No wonder the MP's are now on holiday for umpteen weeks! |
