I would like to thank both the Silsden Town Councillors for their swift response to the possible damage being done to the Oak tree on Banklands Lane by employees of the local builder. Because of their action the workers stopped using a digger to scrape away the soil from under the canopy of the Oak tree and cause more damage to the tree. Even though it states in the planning permission that the tree should be protected by a fence 2 meters wider than the canopy, yesterday the builder took this fence down and started digging. Any damage to the roots has been covered over by topsoil, I wait to see what they are going to do to the area they have not cleared.

Yes hillbilly the work causing damage to the tree has been stopped by the tree protection officer, he sends his thanks to all those members of the public who made the complaints. He said that when the planning permission had been submitted he had recommended that the houses should be built further away from the oak tree but the planners took no notice.
I don't think that the tree inspector would have come to look at the tree as quick if Adrian Naylor had not contacted them, so its worth remembering that brad met respond a lot quicker if a councillor contacts them.
Ps I contacted Mr Mallinson as well, still waiting for his response.
