This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Gritter went up round waterside last night, not putting grit on the road though (didn't see if it had any salt left)?
I wonder if our council has run out/ rationing.

If only there was a bus service that has a route right outside of my house I could use instead of my car. Oh that's right, no grit, no bus!

Are all the gritters dropping that useless white salt?
The one that came around waterside lastnight was dropping white salt, least to say it didn't clear the roads at all!

Seems like a waste of time and money sending gritters out to not even improve the roads at all, could have gone to grit bins instead. wink :)

Have just returned from our early walk. All the side roads were treacherous, and some really bad examples of where not to park. Maybe they just couldn't get any further on their drive home.
Must say, it was wonderful walking, really firm and squeeky underfoot.
Met a lady warmimg her car to go into work, the thermometer in it registered -15.
Take care all, and safe journeys.
