Calling Silsden Environmental action group I was walking upto and into the park this morning it was a complete tip especially under the bridge by the rocks and ramps and in the park itself Hows about another clean up (we did say spring after the last clean up on xmas market day) how does Sunday the 22nd April sound to everyone (weather permiting of course) All welcome many hands make light work  7 of us cleared about 20 bags of rubbish last time |

How does everyone feel about taking a monsoon check on heading out this sunday? I would have said rain check, however the weather is verging on such bibical proporotions of water that rain somehow seems inappropriate. I am worried that the levels and speed of water in the beck might be getting a bit much and am concerned about peoples safety. Also if it is raining it's no fun getting a right old soaking. |

I will leave you to sort out what you want to be called. Does it all happen Sunday the 22nd April at 10am(weather permitting)? HF take lots of pictures and I will put them on the website for you, perhaps we can shame some people not to throw rubbish into the beck!  |

this post has been edited 3 time(s) well 6 turned up, DOERS they are called, not g+bsh+tt+rs and theres plenty on here ALL MOUTH AND NO ACTION  ,,????? me, pumba ,hermoine f,cllr naylor paulc and greybags turned up same as before + mr naylor,,, we got a carpet ,clothes ,sleeping bags, a cone, bike parts,boards and about 8 or 9 bags full picture to follow. |

Posted on behalf of Julie: Dear Team, We relocated to Silsden last year from the South Coast and immediately loved the community feel of the place. It holds some unique and endearing qualities, facilities and scenery giving it a great sense of character. Sadly we have noticed a growing problem which threatens this lovely place and blights the enjoyment it could offer - litter! It is particuarly noticable in Silsden Beck and the canal. We even saw a wheelie bin in the beck which we duly reported, however, nothing was done to retrieve it. Could you please advise on what is either being done or is going to be done to address and resolve this problem alongside any community initiatives that we may become involved in to assist? With thanks. |
