We heard it on keighley Road, it was like a low boom. I had thought it was the start of some 4th July fireworks (there are a few American folks about) but there was none. Would be interesting if anyone knows anything to find out what it was. |

We heard it also, about 11.00pm (ish) There had been fireworks the previous night around the same time, wondered if it was linked but no more after the big bang. |

Yes we say a bright flash of light and then a single loud bang, we live at the top of Skipton Road, I believe it was an air bomb type firework, probably of the type which have been outlawed! |

I was out last night with my family in the good ol U.S OF A watching the 4th of July fireworks, and there was some mega booooooms, I know the UK is tinder box dry and a single spark could frizzle it to the ground but it's sad to see they outlaw some fireworks.
I often see posts on Silsden . net about restrict this and cameras watching who does this and that, and the fact you can't walk down town anymore without plowing through piles of dog skitter. It didn't used to be like that, the counsel yard had local men employed keeping the place tidy, pubs were busy, police houses up cornwall ave were full of local police, seems to me off cummed un's are running the show.
On a brighter note, it's bloody luvly here have a nice day. |

Ishy, how can you not have a nice day in Silsden ??? As for the big bang,it was just an alert for a drugs delivery.... lets hope the police are on to the vile death trading scum or better still a Silsden vigilante to "shall we just say discourage the scum " and protect the youth of silsden ?? Enough is Enough !! |

Ginjo,Thank you for you concern. I sincerely apologize for my somewhat flippant post!! The answer to your question is YES I always report anything that should concern the police, and I urge all residents of Cobbydale to do the same,no matter how trivial you may think it is,it gives the force a wider picture of crime not only in our area but the district,so please don't moan about our under funded, maned, and dedicated hard working police, help them by reporting things. Only by all working, helping and caring together we can perhaps reduce our relatively low crime rate, plus the total disregard of democratic rights of voters by B.M.D.C.,while certain Ward Cllrs. (ON £30 THOUSAND +) give no support, or work for the majority of silsden voters or their elected Town Council.
SORRY GINJO AND PETER,I DID NOT MEAN TO GO OFF TOPIC !! |
