This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

We have had a racing pigeon in the garden for the last 4/5 days. Ringed on both legs but can't get close enough for more detail. It's eating and drinking. Before going to the RSPCA anyone local who could help out? Phone 07990553098. Thanks.

You would need to catch it and get it into a box first. Unless you can see the numbers/letters on the ring there is nothing that can be done. Sometimes they are just tired and want a rest, food and water before flying away. The ring numbers are registered against the owner with the Royal Pigeon Racing Associationa and their name is sometimes also stamped on the wings.

Hello Saskatoon Berry

I wondered if you had any luck with the pigeon? Is he still living with you or has he decided to go home? Mine was picked up and taken home.

We had one on Keighley Road for a while with a bent beak. It doesn't visit so often but I still see it from time to time.
