Topic : Major roadworks to start in Saltaire |

noticed on Hard Ings this morning next to the currently closed BP garage that there's a large, yellow, permanently fixed signpost warning of significant delays in Saltaire due to work on the A657. It's worrying that they're warning of this right back to Keighley, and the fact that the sign is concreted into the path means its going to be a while before things are back to normal. I'm assuming they're finally starting on the changes to the roundabout junction in the middle of Saltaire? |

Funny that isn't it? They've got money to alter a roundabout in Saltaire, but not to honour their long standing maintenance commitments. |

Are the roads going to be brought up to the standard of Spainish ones for the Le Tour coming through next year?????If not there will be loads of accidents and GB will prove it has become worse then a third world country. |

The Saltaire Roundabout is a notorious blackspot and if you have ever tried to get though it at about 8am you know it's a junction to avoid but there is not always the choice. Improvements have been "talked" about for years - well something is finally going to happen. There has been wide consultation with the Saltaire locals and there is a public meeting in Saltaire sometime in July to present the plan. I think they want to get the major disruption over during the school summer holidays.
