This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Last weekend we had a leaflet popped through the letterbox telling us that our road was due to be re-surfaced within the next 3 days. Later on the same day some signs were put up asking us not to park on the road on Wednesday or Thursday.

On Wednesday the sign was changed to Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday a road cleaner cleaned the road.

On Friday some signs were put up saying "loose chippings"

I think this could be a long drawn out job sad :( laugh :D

Friday afternoon about 3 - drains taped over. "We'll be round in hour with the tar . . "

Friday evening about 8-ish - looking like it could chuck it down - am I glad I live up the hill, not down, with all the taped over drains . . . and no tar . . .

Maybe we should do what three streets in Bradford did - block the road with cars and insist it's stopped because the loose chippings make it dangerous for kids to play . . . and then we could complain in the winter there's no grip when it rains . . . wink :)

So, will it be double overtime on a saturday . . . or will it be Monday . . ?

They've done a good job on Bradley Road!
I hate chippings though, in my opinion it's just a cheap job and they create a poorer road surface, skid risk and they fly all over the place causing paint chips and if unlucky windscreen chips.
