Got over Cringles and had to do a ueey as road was blocked. Taking SWMBO to work in Harrogate and found it was still blocked on return.

Heading back from first encounter and three fire engines and an ambulance came the other way. Any details from the curious.

Only do this trip when taking car for service. 130 000 miles. Not bad for a little 1 litre jobby.

Rush-hour traffic disrupted by crash on road between Addingham and Silsden

11:46am Monday 1st December 2008

By Paul Langan

A man had to be cut free from a crashed car on Bolton Road, between Addingham and Silsden, this morning.

Two black cars - a Volvo V70 and a Vauxhall Corsa - were involved in the early morning accident which resulted in the closure of the road for two-and-a-half hours.

Rush-hour traffic had to find alternative routes after the cars crashed at around 7am. Three fire appliances, two from Silsden and one from Keighley, attended the scene.

Ilkley and Bingley Station manager Andy Newman said that firefighters used cutting equipment to free one of the two casualties.

Both men, who have not been named, were taken to Airedale General Hospital although police said they were not thought to be seriously injured.

nearly a crash on Keighley road at 6pm tonight
some numpty in a corsa took exception to me pulling out to go to work
(i wouldnt mind if id done anything dodgy but when i pulled out there were no lights coming over the bridge)
his idea was because he had to slow from 45mph to 30 he should thaw his bonnet out with my exhaust by getting to about 3mm behind meshocked 8Oangry

We must have been about five minutes behind the prang yesterday morning. I had had to suffer a member of the 'how close can I get' brigade, so it was a bit of a slow run up to cCringles. Just as well when we met the backed up traffic.

I heard that one of the cars involved had overtaken another on the bend just down past the houses.

By the way, beside an undertaker who on earth wants a black car??

What's up with black cars?

As someone who drives a lot a find it's white and grey cars that are the worse to see on roads, particularly when they don't put their lights on on roads with spray!

I was the driver of a grey car with my lights on one day, when the nice women in the big BLACK pick up style car ran into the back of me, writing mine off. That was on cringles too!
