This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I have had my mountain bike stolen from my garage its a carrera grey / silver with black an yellow badges on it its not new but in new condition,I am so annoyed that some one could just walk up the drive and into the gagrage whilst we had gone inside for a short while without them being seen.
I think it must be a local kid, police not really interested but I would just like the satisfaction of getting it back,I am prepared to pay a reward if some one can help me find it.
Telephone 01535 656753 day or 656029 night time if you have any information I will pay and keep your name confidential.

I doubt the scum bags will have the intelligence to read this.
Hope you get it back though.

Can you make up posters with a picture of the bike and the fact that it was stolen? Distribute them at the local shops etc. Just a thought, someone may notice something.

We all need to keep an eye on each others property and call the police if we see anything. One lady with her car vandalised now this bike stolen. We had two lads trying ours and others back doors a year or so ago, modern Briton. Young and old with absolutely no respect for others or property. Shame the law is so weak on them.

On another note, there was a young lad on tv this morning who was charged with rioting and looting in London last year, he followed the herd of idiots raiding and Argos. He was of course full of resource bless him (!) though he didn't know what he was doing, what ever! Anyway, he got 14 month but only server 3 and a half in prison and another 3 and a half on tag. Not enough I'm afraid. Though I do concede its probably smashed his future chances in the working world, which will probably lead to more crime and benefit claiming. This lad though seems to be trying to help other school kids away from crime. Fair play. Doesn't fix that ladies car or bring that bike back though.

Sorry for the rant, they get on my bloody nerves when I work so hard to buy my things!

In total agreement jbrare, why do they think they have a right to what others have worked for, and we are probably keeping them anyway.
As for the person who has lost his bike, when I realised who it was I really felt agrieved, he and his family work hard for what they have got.
String the beggars up, that's my take on some of the things going wrong in our society.
There, my rant over as well.

Thanks for the support everyone, I just think like most of you we have a great place to live and we should all look out for each other.
I was one of the main instigators along with others at getting cctv for the town, did it ever work! I dont think so, had we have been given the funding all areas of Silsden would have been covered by now.
However in came all the do gooders protecting peoples privacy and all the other human rights issues that the scum bags like these use to their advantage to assist them in keeping anonymous, means the rest of us suffer the consequence and pay through the nose.the cctv was not done correctly and was a token guesture to keep us quite.
Cctv would have helped detect the culprit s who stole the bike, was this the same moron who smashed 4 car windows on vehicals in the early hours on Skipton rd,? is this the same moron who scratched the ladys car in broad daylight? who knows but with out the cameras they will go about their business unaffected and hide behind the human rights laws that protect offenders and leave victims to fend for themselves.
Thanks for the support, enquirys are on going any help or information will be appreciated.

Oh my god! Car windows smashed too! Didn't know about that! Someone in this town knows who's done / doing this. They need to be stopped!

Someone will catch them in the act, give them a really good hiding hen get locked up for assault whilst the crim scumbag gets a payout!

Silsden seems to be sliding into areas of Keighley for its crimes or is that my perception and it's not getting worse?

at one time you could look on west yorks police website, click on neibourhood team and then there would be an update on crime for each month, this seems to have been taken off the website now. However if you look at police.co.uk
and enter your postcode it brigs up all the crimes for each month in that area, you can click on a type of crime and it will show you where that sort of crime was comitted and what action was taken(usually none) I was shocked to see how much was in silsden for june especially antisocial behaviour and in one area buckden court, there were 14 instances in one month!I think crime is definiteley going up, its just not made easy for you to see the figures anymore and also there are lots of crimes that don't get reported.where are the pcso's not seen one for months, used to patrol regularly up howdenroad area
