Silsden news on Facebook saying that the Punch is up for let. Apparently rent is £35,000 per annum & people saying 'no wonder it up for let'. It would be a sad day if the Punch goes the same way as the Grouse & the Bridge. |

If they can't get the £35,000 for it maybe they could sell it to someone who could turn it into a free house? |

I've heard that the lease is due to come up for renewal a while back. £35k doesn't sound a bad figure, but I wouldn't consider IT. Making it freehold, in the right hands, could turn this pub round. We used to use the Punchbowl as a meeting up place nearly every weekend, back when Jo had it. Not been in now for over a year. |

Much as it grieves me to say this, but the way forward for this public house would be down the road of a 'gastro-pub'. There must surely be a market for this type of pub in Silsden but are Cobbydalers ready to accept change. My wife & I used to go regularly to 'Waddys'/'Merlins' way back when for a decent meal. After their demise we went to Addingham etc. There's nowt wrong with a night out on the ale but if your not into Asian/Italian/Chinese your going to go home hungry. |

Yeah I think the best way forward would be a good local ale pub with decent food but would allow parents with children! I feel Silsden lacks this, I don't mean a tacky 'wacky warehouse 'type thing but welcoming to family's like the dog and gun. |

well once it gets open,,,for god sake patronise it,,,,,,,, was same at grouse,endless posts hope it stays open,,but once open slowly no,body went,,,,,, no bussness can keep open without custom,,,so use it or dont moan when its houses,, simple really,, |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) punch bowl official opening night fri the 26th of feb, catch 22 playing,be there or be square.  poss might be open earlier unofficailly. |
