is it right that we have to be disturbed from our slumber at anything between 6am and 6.30am by these people? are there no laws or bylaws or regulations that prevent this? every thursday i get up earlier than normal because i can't sleep due to the noise!! er indoors thinks 7am is the watershed and she's usually right. |

some refuse crews start early due to collecting on main roads and do so when quiet, so therefore try not to cause too many hold ups when it gets busy on the roads..there are also other side roads which they need to get down before they also get too congested with either school traffic or people parking close to were they work..but no matter what they do there will always be someone complaining about binmen ..... |

damn right BMW and i'm one of them! none of your theories apply where i live. ya don't think they might be running round like loonies cos the sooner they finish the sooner they go home? hey i've had athought! if i go to bed earlier i'll still get my quota of sleep before the crash/bang begins. |

so sorry but i dont think the council have developed the first silent bin wagon yet...and depending on where you live the crews may start in a different part of town were access is needed early doors..and then your street may me the next port of call unfortunatley still quite early..maybe you could suggest to the crew that they turn the engine off and push the wagon around the streets and empty the bins that are full of rubble, bricks, green waste, and all the rest of the recycle items that are in the domestic bins more quitely, who knows what answer you may get... |

I cant believe that someone is complaning about the bin men ,my brother in law lives in the West Midlands and their bins are emptied 4 weekly and if there is more than one bin they are charged accordingly, about £4 per extra bin full so stop moaning about refuge collection and put you attention somewhere usefull |

you are right "Bob T", we are lucky here, let's hope Bradford don't go the same way as some other councils. |

lucky!!!! lucky!!!! have you seen your rates bill recently? why can't we expect a good service with the money we pay in to the coffers? while we're at it, a horse drawn wagon with old fashioned dustbins collected from your own property and brought back to your own property wouldn't go amiss.that would avoid the clatter of empty bins disturbing my peace at all times of day being dragged up and down the cobbled back streets.oh! and by the way, have it done between 10am and 6pm.sorted! |

when I said "lucky" I meant that we still have weekly collections of refuse, compared to most councils elsewhere. Some places have rats, fly tipping and other problems, at least we get rid of the waste each week. "Bobber", you may be right about value for money from council tax overall, a whole new subject! |

i think maybe you should fined out how much of your hard earned money that you pay to council tax goes towards refuse collection, and you will fined that its hardly anything...and have you thought that the bin lads also pay council tax so in theroy they are paying towards there own wages..and as for going back to black bags it would be the jo public that would suffer (1 BIN 1 BAG) not 2 wheely bins and 4 bags of side rubbish...and as for you complaining your not getting your precious sleep i am show there hearts must bleed for you//// |
