The cobbled road that runs behind South View Terrace is Sinking and last night one of the resident found a hole almost 2ft deep with some of the surface bricks inside.
Please DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR ON HERE!
We have contacted the council.
It looks like the water works that were carried out on the road a few years back have not left the road in good condition.
Please spread the word quickly, i dont want to find a car down a hole.

Just an update for our local council!
7 days on, still no repair, no signs to stop drivers driving on the road, no barriers to prevent anyone falling down the whole!!
Although a chap came from the waterboard and had a look.
Must be waiting for someone to fall down it!

Thanks for the input, thankfully, its not outside my house!!

Thanks for taking a look at it Skippy,
its still there and still no barriers around it, just the concrete flag from some blokes garden and a cone that someone had to steal from the side of the road,

The council may try and claim it as unadopted but if that was the case they wouldnt have been able to put traffic restrictions on the bottom end of the back street.

Gazzer,
Toally i think that everyone living around the road understands that it may be an unadopted road, the problem seems to be from when the water board took the cobbled road up to lay pipes, so it may be down to them to fix it.

But right now nobody is soing anything and nobody from the council is telling anyone what is happening (if anything).
The lady who house it is behind can not get onto her drive because the hole is growing and about to collapse.

Surely someone from the council is supposed to be in charge as a leader and let people know what is going on?

Sloppy and lazy management as far as i can see.
