IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Topic : Trees in Silsden Beck off Bradley Road |
|
Jolly Bob |
I have just witnessed what I class to be wanton damage to trees at the bottom of Bradley Road. Does anyone have the right to heavily prune trees on the side of the Beck? |

I don't think there are any trees in this area with TPOs cbmdc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=bfd3c162377c40858f3a23878f3b19de If the trees have been pruned professionally they should be all OK. Although I'm not sure this is the right time to prune trees. |

Silsden has a Conservation Area status to a lot of it, does this not affect trees? May be wrong.... |

Although I'm not sure this is the right time to prune trees. WRONG !! These are the rules for CONSERVATION AREAS: Conservation Areas Normal TPO procedures apply if a tree in a conservation area is already protected by a TPO. But if a tree in a conservation area is not covered by a TPO, you have to give written notice to the LPA (by letter, email or on the LPA’s form) of any proposed work, describing what you want to do, at least six weeks before the work starts. This is called a ‘section 211 notice’ and it gives the LPA an opportunity to consider protecting the tree with a TPO. You do not need to give notice of work on a tree in a conservation area less than 7.5 centimetres in diameter, measured 1.5 metres above the ground (or 10 centimetres if thinning to help the growth of other trees). https://www.trees.org.uk/Help-Advice/Public/A-brief-guide-to-legislation-for-trees |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) I think its time to inform Bradford and hold the culprit responsible! Hmmm now Who do we think it is? Is it the same person that is wantonly littering our street corners putting scruffy advertisement boards up? Who might that be now? My letters going in...how about yours? |

Bradford need to stop forcing people and companies to put plastic wheelie bins on public display before they start chasing others |

quoteWhere has all this rubbish about wheelie bins come from This thread is about damage to trees! If you read the thread Dexter suggested the bushes should not have been removed because they are in a conservation area so I pointed out there are bigger issues about the conservation area including wheelie bins in the front of properties. |

Absolute bollocks..Are you telling me I can't go to the garden centre or tree grower and buy a multistem tree? I think you need to check out your facts Gazzer. In fact you can stuff your facts in your wheelie bin..where they belong. |
