It was a free advertisement for a business (commercial) and as such not allowed. The banner advertisements you see on this site have been paid for and they pay for the maintenance and upkeep of this website. It would hardly be fair on the people that have paid for banners to allow free commercial advertising. |

Thank you Peter for the explanation.Starting a new business is difficult, i would have thought you could have been a little bit more amenable and given them more time to contact you.But rules are rules. |

It is not expensive to advertise on this website (£50 + vat/year). This website has about 1400 unique visitor per day and serves up about 5000 pages of local information. How would you feel if you ran a business had paid for an advertisement then saw a business putting information on the website for free. I know it's hard starting up a business. I design and host websites, silden.net takes a lot of my time to keep to keep running, it has to generate enough money to cover costs. |
