Our life is ruled by the motorcar.
Complain about motorcars at your peril.
There is but one god, the motorcar.

Yes, an accident is waiting to happen, and will happen, simply because many parents have forgotten how to use their legs. Its bad for the kids and bad for the environment, and its selfish in the extreme. Change will have to come and its up to the whole community. |

As well as putting your gripes here why not inform the school so they can remind all the parents about the dangers of parking around the school.
I'm sure the school would like to know about and will bring the subject up in assemblies and letters to parents. |

The school is aware and as fed up as everyone else!
The school was one of the early ones to promote the walking bus.
To make matters worse there are the same inconsiderate parents who even park on the zig-zag lines as the numpties do on the crossings in the centre of Silsden! |

Is the 'walking bus' still running?
Maybe that answers the question about Silsden schools. No one local is going to drive, the schools are central so it must mean people are coming in from outside because of the reputation of Silsden Schools. |

Yes, the walking bus is still running, both Skipton road and howden road. I use it with my children everyday.
Everyday i'm shocked how many people who live in these areas don't use it.
What is more shocking is the amount of parents who drive to school and don't seem to see us trying to cross the road. Even though we all wear high vis vests and have a line of at least 5 children plus a pram, we appear invisible to those in cars. Why can't they indicate? I'm sure the highway code says indication is for pedestrians aswell as other vehicles.... Some will even park where we are trying to cross.
Why are people so desperate to use Aire View and Hothfield street at that time, especially those who aren't dropping children?
As for after school.............. |

Helix, don't blame the police! Blame Bradford Met they are responsible for keeping the lines and signs legal, then start blaming the stupid legless drivers who wont walk, the local pcso's do what they can but if they turn their backs on the zig zags the cars are parked on them. Never mind all this will change when Bradford take over the parking enforcement! they will get to keep the money they make so they will see to it they get as much as possible to spend in the centre of Bradford. |

I hope so 'grandad' because EVERY weekend I see people parked on the crossings in the centre of Silsden!
Is anybody ever fined for it? |

Yes alan they are if they are caught! Most times if the driver is sitting in the vehicle they are asked to move, if they are not there they get a ticket. |

One question I would REALLY like the answer to is, 'when was the last person actually fined for an offence such as parking on a crossing' in Silsden? |
