Right,now the bike race is over its time to start getting yourselves revved up for the Gala!!! There is still room in the procession for vehicular floats and walking groups. Please e mail me magsgreen64@hotmail.co.uk Also fancy dress,bikes prams and scooters. We meet at Howden road at 12 noon,judging will take place from 12.15 and the procession will leave at 1pm. And of course The Tug O War!! Which team will prove to be the strongest this year?? E mail me with team details. |

Looking forward to the Silsden gala it is always a great day and also a time when we should all just spare a little time to remember Graham Inman and all the hard work he did for Silsden gala over the many years he always did us proud we will always remember you Graham. |

Could this be a good time to encourage more people to pay the entrance fee into the gala field,so as not to put next years event in jeopardy. |

Well today is the day! the weather forecast is not looking bad, the showers they talked about earlier now appear to be missing us. So there is no excuse for not turning out and supporting the gala team who have worked hard all year since the last one in an effort to make this years gala special, come along and try to make it a kin to the tour turn out! |

ere peter send the royalties for my skip picture to the air ambulance hahahha well done to all who made yesterday such a marvellous event (long may it continue) I heard a rumour that dogcatcher even paid his pound entry fee(shock) oh and even give his change as well(even bigger shock) well done again everybody smashing day. |

WOW!!!!! What an absolutely grand day we had!! Silsden Gala Committee would like to thank everyone who helped us out yesterday.(will try and remember all) Grandad(and Grandson)Mary Fryers,Keith savage and Youth Council for working the gate so well. The men from the church,Steve Richardson,Richard Horne,Chris Illingworth,Scottish Gypsies(male species)for getting fences away so quick and efficiently. Mr Mayor himself for his fantastic litter picking skills!!!! Francis and Lisa for their continuing support. And last but by no means least to all the wonderful people of Silsden and behond who came and joined in with what is a brilliant community event. THANK YOU!!!! |

OOOOOOPS!!! And not forgetting Deputy Mayor Keith Savage (again) for opening this years Gala and handing out the prizes. And to everyone who made the effort entering floats/tractors/fancy dress and walking groups who made the procession so grand. |

I think you'll find I took part for over 10 years on the committee, I've served my time. It was simply a comment that swigging from beer bottles isn't the best example to young children - which after all is what the event is all about. |

absolutely and well done, but having a drink on the floats when there were lots of floats in days gone by was common practice. |
