IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Topic : Confusion over the difference between the bottle bank and the park perhaps? |
|
| hermione fraggle |
I have been out this fine sunny Saturday morning and took the dog for a walk and run about in the park. There seems to be some sort of confusion, whoever was using the park for recreational drinking last night seems to have mistaken the park for a giant bottle bank. I spied discarded bottles in the tennis courts, on the play frame made fromlogs, all over tghe grass in front of the swings and thats only the areas I actually went into, Ididn't go down to Rocks and Ramps to check but presumably it would have been the same there. There were also cardboard boxes from which the bottles came out of in the middle of the football field. It's not like there aren't bins to put things in. It annoys me that the park users can't can't put thinkgs in the bin and leave them out for other to clear up. But as if that wasn't bad enough I walked past the war memorial and someone had pulled up some of the plants from the planter at the front of the memorial, I am sickened by the lack of respect for what the memorial stands for. I will be pooping the details of my findings this morning in the police box in the post office. |

This is what the park looks like every Monday morning, we spend at least 10 mins picking up empty beer bottles (don't want the dogs to cut themselves) |

it`s not only the playing fields that has become a bottle bank and litter bin but all over silsden people just toss things on the floor and carry on tab ends are as the most common. |

I agree with all you say about litter in parks etc but what about the dog dirt, it seems Silsden has become one big dog toilet. It is time the inconsiderate dog owners faced hefty fines for not removing their dogs excrement. ![]() ![]() |

Not only the park peoples garden sometime over the weekend garden plants ruined possibly rolling on them or deliberately trampling on them plus abottle on the lawn , but i guess thats what you get for living on Skipton road. |

I guess all we can do is keep reporting things. I have noticed since I reported a lot of anti social behaviour on Keighley Road it has reduced quite a lot. If you donm't report things then the police won't know it is happening. As I say I have no problem with people drinking but litter and vandalism is an very unwelcome side effect. |

Quite right 'hermione', the more complaints in the boxes the better to get situations sorted. You can always go to a town council meeting and get your views heard as well. |
