The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but here is that figure in some perspective:
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
A billion pounds ago was only 13 hours and 12 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
Building Permit Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Income Tax Unemployment Tax Fishing Licence Tax Food Licence Tax Fuel Tax Petrol/Diesel Tax Hunting Licence Tax Inheritance Tax Inventory Tax (tax on top of tax) Alcohol Tax Luxury Tax Marriage Licence Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Service charge taxes Social Security Tax Road Usage Tax Local Tax Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Workers Compensation Tax
STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago... and our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt... we had the largest middle class in the world.... and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.
What happened? Can you spell 'politicians!'
I hope this goes around the UK at least a Billion times. What the hell happened? |

All politicians now think that our money is to do with as they please. If they run a project which is a miserable failure nobody takes the blame for the loss of millions. They massively overpay themselves with our money and then steal from expenses and nobody gets punished. Corruption seems the policy of all parties. |

Everyone wants the government money to be spent on them.
Nobody wants to pay the government any money.
Could somebody explain how the system should work then?

Stop, or certainly reduce, the government from paying for things that shouldn't be paid for. Simples! |

Ange1495 Are you using our billion or the American billion? Ours is one million; million, the American one is only one thousand; million, That makes a lot of difference, don’t you think? Lies, dammed lies, and statistics comes to mind! |

The correct answer is to use the International Standard Prefixs
£1 000 = 1k£ kilopound £1 000 000 = 1M£ megapound £1 000 000 000 = 1G£ gigapound £1 000 000 000 000 = 1T£ terapound
15 zeros it is peta 18 zeros exa 21 zeros zetta 24 zeros yotta
Obviously someone is still counting the atoms in the universe as there is nothing for 27 or more zeros.
There is of course the googol which has 100 zeros or even the googolplex which is 1 followed by a googol of zeros. |

I don't think anybody minds paying taxes to fund the police, NHS, education etc. etc. What we object to is the corrupt manner politicions steal our money for themselves or waste it on pet projects of no value but to massage their egos. If the number of non-jobs and quangos were halted we'd be well on the way. |

no problem paying taxes if the benefits come back to my family and my commumity but how does a somali who has never paid a penny in tax in this country get a £700,000 house to live in and get benefits on top of that when we have old age pensioners who paid in all there lives trying to get by on next to nothing it stinks |

ahhh i was waiting to see how long it would take before we had the 'foreigner living in our country on benefits' comment.
well done localman, didnt take you long at all.
after all, every single black/asian person lives in this country for free whilst white people abide by every single rule, pay all their taxes, have no entitlement to benefits and generally get treated like dirt. |
