IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Whilst I'm in a odd for starting threads (it isn't a moan this time), does anyone know if the graffitit on elctric/phone connection boxes (the green things on pavements) is of any significance? If you've seen it you'll know what I mean, one on Howden Road and another on Ings Way. Just curious to know what its about. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) There has been a lot of new graffiti appearing in Silsden over the last few weeks (the kids must be on holiday). Graffiti breeds more graffiti so please report it when you see it here.. www.bradford.gov.uk/contact_us/online_forms/highways_and_streets/problems_highways_streets.htm |

To be fair it has been there since long before the holidays, just haven't got round to mentioning it. Will look in to reporting it though - does it take long? |
|

quotedoes it take long? NO I have reported the graffiti on the pavillion and skate park but it wouldn't hurt if a few more people reported it. |

So have I on the war memorial, it was cleaned within a couple of days. The graffiti unit in Bradford are extremely helpful and it only takes five minutes. |

Glad you've mentioned the war memorial alan, as there's more on it, which I definately will be reporting right now, really saddened me to find out who Abi loves whilst reading the names of those who gave their lives. |

Annoying, it's only a couple of weeks since it was cleaned....grrrrrrr!!!!!!!! |

Better still. If anyone knows Abi, get her to clean it off, whilst giving her a history lesson. |

She could keep Baz company. Update from BradMet; "I have asked our graffiti removal team to come out. As this is offensive we aim to remove it within 2 days" |

On a positive note, the flowers in the Memorial Gardens are a real credit to the gardeners from the council. I tend to pass without noticing but had half an hour to spare (why can't Barclays open at 9 like evrything else??) yesterday and so sat in the Gardens. If it weren't for the graffiti, its a place we should, as a town, be really proud of. |

Using this contact page will always work www.silsden.net/about/email.shtm I see BradMet have painted out the graffiti on the pavillion. I had a call from the department about the graffiti on the skate park and and he promised to have a look (I assume when the pavillion was claean up) The graffiti on the skate area is a low priority and something "may" be done in the next few weeks but don't count on something happening. The attitude was "all skate board areas have graffiti and we should live with it" The skate area came about because kids from Silsden Youth Council worked very hard to raise the money to make it happen. They were very proud of their achievements and kept graffiti off the support structure. The skate area was made in 2005 - yes it really is 4 years old and has given enjoyment to many of our children. silsden.net/townyouth_council/rock_n_ramps_pics/index.htm PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT and keep this area graffiti and rubbish free by reporting the graffiti. Graffiti breeds more graffiti so please report it when you see it here.. www.bradford.gov.uk/contact_us/online_forms/highways_and_streets/problems_highways_streets.htm |
