This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

I thought someone else would have got there before me. Anyhow my efforts from a basic digital camera at 10fps. No sound so music added. It is copyright free and called 'Riverbank Days'

Went on at 13;45 so might be available immediately.
Just checked. It is there.

The two horses are ok

I took lots of pictures (including the horses looking rather bemused by the situation at Habasit Rossi)

A video of Silden Beck in full flow as well

Radio Leeds were reporting a problem at the Addingham roundabout, when I came through later it was obvious from the debris that a lot of water had been running across it at sometime.

I have quite often seen a gentleman in the field where those too hroses are bringing them hay ans such. That field is often pretty boggy, but the horses don't look to be neglected or anything.

When I set off from work in Leeds this lunchtime I heard that Addmigham roundabout was cut off, and heard that Ilkley was impassable and heard from a friend in Otley that Otley wasn't fairing very well. So I came a rather longwinded way back, but I was sure some of the reports were a little far fecthed. But I have noticed that the road from Ilkley often has tons of standing water especially near the Cocking Lane turn off.

The A6034 Keighley Rd was closed on fire service advise for fear of the wall collapsing.
The roundabout at Addingham bypass did have standing water of about 6inches round part of it, the Rd between Addingham and Ilkley was covered with about the same amount in 2 places, Brook St in Ilkley was a bit of a river there was a lot of water around the traffic lights but traffic could get through with care, unfortunatley to many drivers were going to fast and there were some accidents. the top Rd up past the Cow & Calf to Burley Woodhead was (and still is) blocked by a deep pool of water 3cars came to greef in it.
The Emergency Services did a wonderful job in often difficult circumstances, dispite getting some abuse from ignorant drivers.
