This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

We have had some heavy rain lately and there has been rather a lot of water running down the roads because of blocked drains - how about we make a list for the council?

I'll start it off with the drain opposite Dale View (on Bolton Road) - BLOCKED 6 August 2002

Hello peeps,
on average, how often do your drains get blocked and water overflows?

Roughly how many times a year? (or monthly if its that bad!)

if you didnt know, im leanne, doing BSc Geog from Leeds uni, ive posted another message on her too if you want to check it out.
Our group is doing a report on Silsden's rivers, and this would really help us, greatly!
Dont worry, were not going to be releasing data publically, any information received would just be viewed by our group (5 undergraduates) and our module examiner - no one else would care anyway, what we wrote, were not professors, just undergraduate students!

Report blocked drains here www.silsden.net/town_council/fault_report.htm

It does work, they are cleared. You can also report faulty street lights and other council type problems - best of all it's a 24/7 service.

It was a long time ago when this topic was started (it still floods at the bottom of Belton road). I guess the search is working happy :)laugh :Dlaugh :D

The page you should use now to report problems like this is
www.bradford.gov.uk/bmdc/contact_us/online_forms/highways_and_streets/

... or you can find the link from the sidebar menu Town Council > report a fault happy :)

Well this is one on Keighley Road which is nicely blocked, so much so if you have a shower or a bath the water comes out through the manhole cover. Even in dry whether this drain hole is full to the brim with water and debris.

But if there are lots of other blocked on Keighley road then it will have a knock on effect and all go down to Belton Road perhaps?

Has the bradford link changed again?
All the drains from Clog Bridge to Belton road are blocked
They seem to have a dirt/soil plug 1/2 foot below the grate even in dry weather

I have reported the ones on Keighley Road several times this year, all you get is an automatically generated email saying they will come and do it with 2 weeks, but they have never been done
