Wizard the first thing to note is that it is not the old youth club, the youth club is still using this building. Second If the local lunatics do start hanging around the area; give them a chance they may only be using it for what it is meant for i.e. playing games. If however they do start to damage it? let the police know, give them the evidence they need to put the trouble makers away.

We all remember being young "meme".
What do you want to entertain you?
The Youth Council got their fingers out and got the skate and trials park funded.
Hothfield School and others have got funding for the MUGA.
What is it exactly you want "meme"?
Have you told the Youth Council, have you got involved with the Youth Council?
I'm afraid "there's nowt to do" is the age old war cry and excuse.
The reply these days has got to be "do summat about it" because no body else is gonna give it to you on a plate.

Having witnessed first hand what a mess the multi sports area is, why are there no bins, why was it opened in the summer holidays and where is the cctv we were promised ?
Unfortunely it is being used not by kids but by young men who throw out the young ones, how about a proper police presence or is that an old request?

Complain to Bradford Youth Services - it was my understanding that they would be managing the MUGA.

After attending the council meeting at aire view last week it would seem that there is all sorts of anti social behaviour going on at the multi play area, e.g. setting fires to bins, dog muck being thrown in and around the pitch and groups of 20/30 youths drinking. If we had a police presence in Silsden it might make these kids more responsible for their actions or may be its the parents !! Why is it not being locked at night and why is the cctv camera not working ??
Answers please to Mrs Bottomley, it was her idea.

It wasn't Mrs Bottomleys idea, neither is it either of the schools fault that there is ant-social behaviour.

Try the police! We pay enough in this town for them!

Alan, were you at the meeting, the school promised a pitch that the balls would, nt bounce into peoples gardens but it still has not materilised, Miss Bottomely does not think it is a problem that it is not locked at night, we did suggest that the next council meeting is held in one of the gardens affected but funnily enough they did not want to know, the police can only work if the parents ar decent human beings.

Yes I was at the meeting. I also know the history of the MUGA, but am not a member of the manangement group.

I also know that Mrs Bottomley is not responsible either!

The problem of balls could easily be resolved by high level netting.

As regards the nuisance problem I agree, but we have all been shouting for more police presence and help from Youth Services for a long time now!

Alan, what do you suggest, if us, the people of Silsden want this police presence should we not make more of a noise, there are 8000 of us in Silsden we surely can get together and do something about the lack of Police, What do you reckon ?

I agree, but for a long time certain Town Councillors have been the lone voices doing the shouting!

Like you say there's 8,000 others. But why then do only 18% even bother to vote? One word, apathy!

All the people who are complaining about the lack of police in Silsden; should realise just how lucky they are, the problems we have here are real, but only small; when compared to other areas, if you don't agree try going to most parts of keighley, then you will see just how bad it can get. if you have trouble ring the police and let them know. on a day to day basis the staff are sent where they are percieved to be needed.

Yep, we're lucky we ain't got muggings, robberies, etc etc!

We just pay for everybody else's problems in this town!

I'd be happy if West Yorks Police told us how we used to have five and a police station and now we don't need any!

Just where does the money go that us Silsdeners pay our community charge for? There ain't one politician that's got the bottle to tell us!!!
