IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. ![]() Everyone knows cyclist don't know what traffic lights are for, but perhaps someone should have told Bradford the Tour de Yorkshire is coming through Silsden on Sunday 3rd May (and will be going up Bolton Road) ![]() For more information about the Tour de Silsden (I mean Yorkshire) click here: tdy.granddeparty.org.uk/ |

and of course on that day, it is not just the "peleton" that'll be going that way - it is the general public "sportive" that is also crossing that bit! Oh the joys! |

No traffic lights involved, according to your post its traffic control via Stop/Go Boards, which can easily be moved, my main concern would be if they are surface dressing when the bicyclists come through it might be a bit bumpy for them and slow them down a bit javascript:smileyInsert(topicform.message, ' '); |

quoteIs it me or are the £4 flags really 18 feet long? They are 5ft x 3ft in old money, if I had writen this is the first place I wouldn't have had so many problems with the metric measurments. I have corrected the pictures now. Thanks for letting me know. |

Bought mine yesterday, well worth the money as it is a nice soft material and will look good floating in the breeze. |

quotecan anyone confirm the colours of the Tour De Yorkshire-I am seeing turquoise and yellow on google but have been told its orange and green??? The colours for The Tour de Yorkshire are basically turquoise/blue, white and yellow. The following link to the jerseys will give you a good idea of the colours you could use. letour.yorkshire.com/tour-de-yorkshire/the-jerseys It looks like the TdY bunting which Welcome to Yorkshire was selling is no longer available. ( letour.yorkshire.com ) As a matter of interest the Tour de France starts in Holland at the beginning of July and the colours will be orange + the usual jersey colours which is perhaps where the Google confusion comes from. Don't forget you can buy large (5ft x 3ft) Yorkshire flags from Twiggs, and at all the churches for just £4.00 (profits from these will go to good causes in Silsden) |
|

Thanks for that Peter. I have now made my bunting |

I must have missed something, but can someone tell me the route the tour will take into and out of Silsden and the expected approximate time when it passes through. I live up Skipton Road |
|
| errant juggler |
The race comes down Skipton Road from Kildwick, then through Bell Square and out of Silsden towards Addingham up Bolton Road - see letour.yorkshire.com/stage-3/map. The race will arrive in Silsden from approximately 3.15 pm onwards on Sunday 3 May but don't forget the amateurs coming through in the morning in the Sportive |

14 May 2015 9am The promised road resurfacing of Bolton Road is now happening, if you travel that way you will know all about it. It's just a top layer they are putting on so I suppose it will all be done by lunchtime. |
