I thought there would have been a reply to my comment of being wrongly accused, but the lynch mob are very quiet being faced with the truth. It seems to me that the holier than thou lot have dropped themselves in the excrement, it is a cardinal sin to post postal addresses on these sites unless you are 100% sure of your facts, and even then only the narrow minded would do such a thing. I would welcome a visit from anyone, whilst I'm out walking my dogs, who regards me as the guilty person, and I am eager for the Dog Warden to approach me so that I can find out who's slandering my good character so that I can proceed to identify the culprits. |

May I say that I am sorry for any distress caused to you that my post may have initiated. At no point was a name or address given to the Dog Warden. As I stated in the original post, I was reporting an incident which happened to a friend, not something seen by myself, so in no position to apportion blame. The Dog Warden was made aware of that fact. I feel sure, that as you too have a family grave there, you would also find that a distressing experience. |

I can't believe anyone would take a dog into a cemetery and allow it to cr*p in there. Lack of respect is one of the things gaining strength in our world today, and it's awful to think people condone it. There are lots of other places to take dogs anyway, but most of them still have loads of dog cr*p in sight...no end to this problem I'm afraid. |

I feel sure, that as you too have a family grave there, you would also find that a distressing experience. I'm happy to accept your apology, but you must understand my anger when someone told me about the message on the Forum and implied that it was me in question. However, I am glad that I had my say and was suprisingly interested in the concern about dog mess on our streets. I always go into the cemetery in the morning to my family grave before I take my dogs along the canal towpath towards Keighley for a 1-2hr walk, and one of my dogs will empty herself before we get there, the younger one likes to use grass, and both I bag-up, I am reluctant to use the cemetery grounds for this purpose, but as other people have commented once you leave the top of Howden Rd on route towards the canal there are no bins to dispose of your bag(s). Therefore, for starters, the suggestion of a bin at the Bridge pub end and another one at Brunthwaite lane swing bridge would be a great idea. Perhaps if we all pester the council with the idea and don't take no for an answer we may get a result! An extra few bins to empty, to cure the problem seems common sense to me, and they would be close enough to to a road so as not to put the council workers to too much trouble. If the excuse is cost, we could fundraise to cover it, a bin at a time, unless of course their cost quote is extravegantly high, which it probably will be. |

Bradford council say it costs to much for them to empty the special dog poo bins, so that is why they wont put any more up, however they advise the poo be put into a tied plastic bag and then placed into any rubbish bin. When I take my dog out for a walk I always carry several nappy bags and a carrier bag to place them all in, this I bring back home with me and it gets disposed of in my bin at home, it isn’t hard, it is just a case of taking responsibility for you dogs actions. |

Grandad I repeat my comment from another thread:
As far as I am aware the official policy is not to provide bins specifically for dog mess but provide general purpose bins.
I would like to see a bin at the top of Mitchell Lane (exit from the park). Also on the canal bank at The Bridge Inn, and at the other end at Brunthwaite Bridge.
If dog walkers know there is a bin on the way they are more likely to carry to the bin rather than leave it, or worst stuff a plastic bag in a wall for future generations.
You must remember wherever you suggest the need for a bin then the location must only be a short distance from a road - you can't expect a council worker to go for a long walk to collect the contents of a bin. |
