Unfortunately Jim Atkinson no longer owns the pub as the old owner wouldn't get on with certain jobs that needed finishing before the family could take over properly, this resulted in them getting far too fed up of constantly asking him to finish things off so they could move the pub onwards and upwards! So david (the old owner) now has the keys back and it's up to him now if he reopens it , if and when! Such a shame but these things happen at least they tried!!! |

so they never really bought it then if they have given the keys back to the previous owner,maybe just taken on a tenancy? |

Obviously i,m not privy to the agreement but could the position be that the original landlord has not fulfilled his obligations, and with contracts not yet exchanged the prospective buyer has withdrawn from the sale. |

I think the pub is owned by enterprise inns, or a similar outfit, so the pub itself would never have been for sale. I think it would be a case of buying a lease for a term ?? |

a "Business for sale " does not always include the premises listed on the land registry. It can mean the business only, is sold subject to contract. The owner of the property can remain the same no matter how often the business is sold. |

yes dins was right it was the lease only, the building was never for sale. |

Just returned from three weeks away and am dismayed to find that the Punch is still in darkness. It's a sad state of affairs if a fine drinking town like Silsden can't support four pubs. |
