 If you would like to reproduce this crest you should first obtain permission from Silsden Town Council. Peter, interesting info about the crest and its history. It raises a point about Silsden....why can't we have our postal address "Silsden, West Yorkshire" and drop the "Keighley", if we are a town in our own right? As long as the postcode is there, it should not be a problem? |

People seem to mistakenly think Silsden is part of Keighley - it isn't! |

Street number or house name followed by the post code is all you actually need. Not sure how much automation in the postal system actually uses the post code though. Starting with a view of planet earth on google earth inputting a UK post code always brings you to the right street. |

I use Silsden, Just over the hill from Addingham or Just down road from Skipton (nowhere near Keighley)  |

There is no need to put anything but your house number and postcode for mail to get to you. Just add the name of your road and Silsden to put it on the map. |

JUST THINK ABOUT IT if Keighley was not there then a lot of Silsdeners would be out of work or have to travel a lot futher to work. |
